Field	Description

Application Launch Telnet	Default Telnet is the one that comes with the

Opening a device

Opening a device displays the device view, a picture of the device. To open the device view, you must enter community strings that determine the access level granted to the device.

Table 18 "SNMP community string default values" (page 123) describes the default access community strings for the Device Manager software.

To display the device view, use the following procedure:

1Do one of the following:

•Choose Device > Open.

•Choose Device > Open Last by SNMPv1/v2, and select an IP address from the list.

•For previously-opened SNMPv3-enabled devices, choose Device > Open Last by SNMPv3, and select an IP address from the list.

•Click the folder icon in the Device Manager window.
