Figure 9 "Ethernet Routing Switch 2500 Series used as a workgroup switch" (page 36) shows the Ethernet Routing Switch 2500 Series used as a workgroup switch in an enterprise branch ofﬁce environment. Desktop workstations and servers are connected directly to the switch ports. Alternatively, an ERS 2500 series switch that supports Power over Ethernet (PoE) can provide connectivity and power to IP Phones and Wireless LAN Access Points (WLAN APs) in addition to desktop workstations and servers.

The Ethernet Routing Switch 2500 series switch can optionally be stacked up to 8 units to form a single virtual switch providing up to 384 10/100Mb/s connections and 16 1000Mb/s connections.
