Trap log

You can configure an Ethernet Routing Switch 2500 Series to send SNMP generic traps. When the Device Manager is running, any traps received are recorded in the trap log. You set the maximum number of entries in the trap log using the Properties dialog box ("DCAM-6270493" (page 120)). The default number of trap log entries is 500.

To view the trap log, use the following procedure:

Do one of the following:

On the toolbar, click the Trap Log button.

From the Device Manager Main Menu, choose Device > Trap Log.

ATTENTION

When you operate Device Manager from a UNIX platform, you must be logged in as root in order to receive traps.

Device Manager receives traps on port 162. If this port is being used by another application, you cannot view the trap log until the other application is disabled and Device Manager is restarted.
