Advanced Configuration

Ethernet Supplicant Setup – Allows the access point to act as an 802.1X supplicant so it can be authenticated through its Ethernet port with a RADIUS server on the local network. When enabled, a unique MD5 user name and password needs to be configured.

(Default: Disabled)

Enabled/Disabled – Enables/Disables the 802.1X supplicant function.

Username – Specifies the MD5 user name. (Range: 1-22 characters)

Password – Specifies the MD5 password. (Range: 1-22 characters)

WDS Supplicant Setup – Allows the access point to act as an 802.1X supplicant so it can be authenticated through a WDS (wireless) port with a RADIUS server on the remote network.

When enabled, a unique MD5 user name and password needs to be configured for the WDS port. For a SMC2888W-S Slave unit, there is only one WDS port. For a SMC2888W-M Master unit, there are 16 WDS ports. (Default: Disabled)
