Installing the Power Supply Fan Tray

For the following procedure, it is assumed that you have already removed a defecti ve po wer

supply fan tray and that you intend to replace it with a new one.

To install the new power supply fan tray, perform the following steps.

Step1 Using one hand, grasp the power supply fan tray from above (as shown in

Figure7-13).

Step2 Position the assembly in front of the guide rails in the fan tray bay.

Step3 Carefully insert the fan tray into the guide rails in the bay (see Figure 7-13).

Step5 Tighten the captive installation screw on the fan tray faceplate (see Figure7-13). To verify that the power supply fan tray is operating properly, proceed to the following section. Step3 Remove the four installation screws securing the cable-management tray to the recessed router enclosure (see Figure7-24). Save the screws for possible future use. Step6 Once all of the line card interface cables are removed, loosen the captive installation screws at the top and bottom of the cable-management bracket (see Figure7-27). 7-76 Step7 Remove the cable-management bracket from the line card. This completes the removal procedure for the Cisco 12008 cable-management bracket.
