4 Using the System
ABOUT THE PROGRAM BANNER
The Program Banner is displayed for a few seconds at the top and bottom of the TV screen every time you change the channel, begin playback of a recording, or press the View button on the remote. The top Program Banner provides information about the program that you are viewing. The bottom Program Banner provides information about the status of your VCR. The figures below show the Program Banners for your satellite channels and your local broadcast or cable channels. The information varies, depending on the specific pro- gram, but may include any or all of the items in the following figures:
