Testing dishes for suitability - for Microwave cooking only.
When unsure that a cooking container is suitable for use in your microwave, check by using the following test:
1.Fill a microwave safe measuring jug with 300ml of cold water.
2.Place this bowl next to the container you want to test, on the glass tray. If the container to be tested is very wide, place the measuring bowl inside it.
3.Heat on MAX for 1 minute.
Result
If the container is suitable for microwaves, it will stay the same temperature whilst the water will be warm. If the container seems hot, that means it absorbs microwave energy. Therefore you cannot use it in Microwave mode.
Note: This test cannot be used for plastic containers or containers which are completely enamelled, such as Le Creuset ® cookware, as these dishes have cast iron underneath the layers of enamel.
