Unselect

Utility Name

UNSElect

specifies that the UNSElect function is to be performed.

Parameters

VOLser

indicates that a VOLSER is being specified for unselection.

(volser)

volser specifies the VOLSER to be unselected.

FORCE

optionally indicates that the volume is to be unselected even if communication with the host that has the volume selected is not possible.

JCL Requirements

The following definitions apply to UNSElect utility JCL:

SLSPRINT

output messages from the utility program.

SLSIN

input to the utility in the form of control cards.

Invoking the Unselect Utility

The easiest way to run utilities is to execute the ACS UTIL exec by entering the following command:

EXEC ACS UTIL UNSElect

Execution of the statement results in the ACSUTIL SLKJCL file:

To execute the utility:

1.Delete the lines in the template that are not required, or leave the comment indicator

(*) in column one.

2.Remove the comment indicator from the desired lines.

3.Specify values for the desired parameters
