Introducing Vantage Access

This chapter introduces Vantage Access and its key features. Refer to the Quick Start Guide for setup requirements, installation, and access.

1.1 Overview

Vantage Access is a web-based management tool that allows you to remotely management, control and monitor devices which support the TR-069, TR-098, TR-104, TR-106, TR-111 and TR-135 protocols (from ZyXEL or other vendors). The following figure shows a typical network example.

In this example, you use a computer (A) to log into the web configurator on the Vantage Access server (B), also known as the Auto-Configuration Server (ACS). You also need to configure the devices (C) to update their status to the Vantage Access server. Once the Vantage Access server collects this information, you can

monitor device status.

examine device and system logs or events.

manage multiple devices at a time (for example, remote firmware upgrade, configuration changes, etc).

set the Vantage Access server to perform scheduled firmware upgrades on the managed device(s).
