Scanner drive cable
1) Is the cable wound on the wire pulley twisted or twined when the scan-
ner is moving? Is there e foreign matter in the mirror pulley assembly?
YES:
Route the cable correctly.
Replace the cable.
Remove the foreign matter.
Scanner rail 2) Move the No. 1 mirror base slowly by hand. Does it move smoothly?
NO: Clean the surface of the scanner rail with alcohol; thereafter, apply
a small amount of silicone oil.
Drum drive assembly, Photosensitive drum
3) Does the problem occur at intervals of about 94 mm?
YES:
Check the drum drive assembly.
Check the drum ends (where developing block members remain in
contact) for a scratch or foreign matter.
Developing gear, Drum drive assembly, Drum unit
4) Does the problem occur at intervals of about 35 mm?
YES: Check the developing assembly.
NO:
Check the drum drive assembly.
Replace the drum unit.
