2) Releasing the Separation Roller Pressure

The lever 1 is provided with a protrusion used to push down the separation roller assem- bly. When the cassette is slid out, the lever 1 rotates causing the separation roller to move down, thereby removing the pressure between the separation roller and the feeding roller.

b. Releasing the Lifter

The lifter is released when the cassette is slid out while the machine is in standby state.
