5/26/05 Detecting and Locating Rogue Access Points

The Alarms > Rogue AP <MAC address> page shows detailed information about the rogue
access point alarm, and allows you to modify the rogue access point alarm with the following
commands:
-Assign to me.
-Unassign.
-Delete.
-Show the Event History.
-Display the Detecting APs (with Radio Band, Location, SSID, Channel Number, WEP
state, short or long preamble, RSSI and SNR).
-Show a high-resolution Map with the current calculated location, or a low-resolution
Map with the rogue access point located at the Cisco 1000 Series lightweight access
point that detects strongest RSSI transmissions.
-Show a Trend of recent RSSI signal strength.
-Set the State to Unknown, Known-Internal, or Known-External (as described in
Rogue Access Point Location, Tagging and Containment).
-Set up Level 1 through Level 4 Containment (as described in Rogue Access Point
Location, Tagging and Containment).
