10.Click Save. Cisco WCS searches for the location appliance and adds it to the Cisco WCS database.

Note: When Cisco WCS has Network Designs (campus, building, or outdoor maps) or Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers that are unassigned to a location appliance, Cisco WCS may automatically redirect you to the Synchronize Cisco WCS and Location Appliance(s) page.

When Cisco WCS does this, refer to the Synchronizing Location Appliance and Cisco WCS Network Designs or Synchronizing Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and Location Appliances sections.

11.Navigate to the All Location Appliances page and click Refresh. Verify that the location appliance appears on the page.

You have added the location appliance to the Cisco WCS database. Return to Configuring Location Appliances or Operating the Location Appliances.

Editing a Location Appliance Contact, User Name, Password, and HTTP/HTTPS Selection

After adding a Cisco 2700 Series Location Appliance (location appliance) to the Cisco WCS database, follow these steps in the Cisco WCS interface:

1.Select LOCATE to display the All Location Appliances page.

2.Click the desired Server Name to have Cisco WCS display the Location Appliance > General Properties > <LocAppliance Name> page.

3.Make the required changes to the Contact Name, User Name, Password, and/or HTTP/HTTPS value.

4.Click Save to update the Cisco WCS and location appliance databases.

You have edited the location appliance General Properties in the Cisco WCS and location appliance databases. Return to Configuring Location Appliances or Operating the Location Appliances.

Synchronizing Location Appliance and Cisco WCS Network Designs

After adding a Cisco 2700 Series Location Appliance (location appliance) to the Cisco WCS database, you can choose to add (synchronize) Cisco WCS campus, building, and outdoor maps (Network Designs) to the location appliance database. After the Network Designs are stored in the Cisco WCS and location appliance databases, you can re-synchronize the two databases at any time. In the Cisco WCS interface:

1.Select LOCATE to display the All Location Appliances page.

2.In the right-hand command drop-down menu, select Synchronize Servers and then click GO to display the Synchronize Cisco WCS and Location Appliance(s) page.

3.Select Synchronize Network Designs.

4.In the required Network Design row, click Assign to have Cisco WCS display the Assign to servers popup window.

5.In the Assign to servers window, check the required location appliance(s).

6.Click OK to return to the Synchronize Cisco WCS and Location Appliance(s) page. Note that the Assign button in the assigned Network Design row now has a star next to it.

7.Click Synchronize to update the Cisco WCS and location appliance databases.
