How WebQoS Fits Into Your Environment

Component		Installed On	Description
WebQoS Services or		Any HP-UX	Collects performance information from the
Service Control		Enterprise	Service Resource Controller and WebQoS
Agent (SCA) and		Server running	request control. Receives management
WebQoS Request		on HP-UX 11.x	control directives from the Service Control
Control		and running a	Operator. Distributes configuration
		web server that	information to WebQoS nodes. The SCA

			This component includes the following
			sub-components:
			Session Manager—creates sessions and

			expires.
			Classifier—examines attributes of a service
			request to determine the appropriate request
			classification assignment for the request.
			Admission Controller—monitors system load
			and response time in order to decide whether
			or not new sessions are accepted.
			Scheduler—submits service requests to the
			web server based on each request's assigned
			request classification priority.
			Class Encoder/Decoder—encodes and
			decodes the request classification priority for
			requests and responses into network packet
			headers so that network devices can handle
			these accordingly.
