Using the BayStack 450 10/100/1000 Series Switch

Reset

The Reset option (accessed from the main menu) allows you to reset a standalone switch, a specific unit in a stack configuration, or an entire stack without erasing any configured switch parameters. Resetting the switch takes approximately 5 seconds. During this time, the switch initiates a self-test that comprises various diagnostic routines and subtests. The LEDs display various patterns to indicate that the subtests are in progress. The results of the self-test are displayed briefly (5 or 10 seconds) in the Self-Test screen (Figure 3-39), which is followed by the Nortel Networks logo screen (Figure 3-40).

Note: The Self-Test screen remains displayed only if the self-test detects a fatal error.
