When a pause frame is received (by either the gigabit MDA port or its link
partner), the port suspends transmission of frames for a number of slot times
specified in the control frame or until a pause-release control frame is received.
Both devices on the link must support this mode when it is selected.
Asymmetric
This mo de allows t he li nk partner to sen d f low cont rol pause frames to t he gigabit
MDA port. When a pause frame is received, the receiving port suspends
transmi ssion of frames for a numbe r of sl ot times spe cif i ed in the contro l fra me or
until a pause-release control frame is received.
In this mode the gigabit MDA port is disa bled from transmitting pause frames to
its link partner. Use this mode when the gigabit MDA port is connected to a
buffered repeater device.

MultiLink Trunk Configuration

The MultiLink Trunk Configuration Menu screen (Figure 3-16) allows you to
select the appropriate screen to configur e up to six MultiLink trunks (you can
group up to four swit ch ports together to form each trunk).
You can conf igure up t o six Multi Link trunks in eac h stack, with trunk me mbers in
either a single unit or distributed between units within the stack configuration
(distributed trunking).
You can monit or the ba ndwidth usage for t he trunk member p orts wi thin eac h
trunk. For more informat i on ab out configuring MultiLin k Trunks, see “MultiLink
Trunks” on page 1-57.
Choose Multi Link T runk Conf iguratio n (or press t) fr om the Switc h Config uration
Menu screen to open the MultiLink Trunk Configuration Menu screen.
Note: When a trunk is not active (Trunk Status field set to Disabled),
configuration changes do not take effect until you set the Trunk Status field to
Enabled.
