The media surface may contain dust or smudges. Clean the disc and retry.

Condensation may have formed within the recorder. Allow the unit to stabilize at the current room temperature for one to two hours before attempting to play the disc.
5. Where did my settings go?
If the unit is unplugged or there is a power failure while the recorder is ON, all settings return to the original default values. Returning the recorder to Standby mode before unplugging the unit saves your settings.
6.Why did my screen go blank at the same time that all the buttons stopped working?
The recorder has a command conflict. Press the STOP button on the front panel of the unit and restart playback.

The symbol means that the operation you want to perform is unavailable on that disc. The recorder is functioning properly.
