Some DVD Video discs provide a content or parental lock for mature viewing material. Level 8 is the most permissible level with Level 1 being the most restrictive.

If the recorder is set to a more restrictive level than the disc level, the recorder asks for a password before playing the disc. There is no default password. Refer to the next section to add a password.

Refer to the beginning of this chapter for assistance if necessary.

2.Confirm that Parental Lock is highlighted.

3.Press ENTER to confirm your selection or simply use the joystick to move to the next submenu.

Add a Password:

When changing the Parental Lock for the first time (or after resetting the recorder), there is no password assigned. When prompted to enter the password, use the numberpad to assign a 4-digit code. This code becomes the registered password.

Some discs restrict only certain scenes. If the password is not entered, the disc plays but skips over the questionable segments.
