Compatibility with progressive-scan devices:

Not all high-definition display devices support progressive-scan through this recorder. Artifacts may appear in the picture. If problems occur when using 525 progressive-scanning, switch the connection to the standard definition (Interface) output. If problems persist, please contact your dealer or a Pioneer Authorized Service Center.

This recorder is compatible with the following Pioneer display devices:

-Plasma: PDP-502MX, PDP-505HD

-Projection: Pro-700HD, Pro 710HD, Pro-720HD, Pro-610HD, Pro-620HD, Pro-510HD, Pro-520HD, SD-641HDS, SD-643HDS, SD-582HDS, SD-533HDS, SD-532HDS

DV Link:

Leave the setting for the DV Link to the default (Auto) whenever possible. However, if the audio and/or video signal from a digital camcorder (using the DV IN/PUT port) is corrupted or failing, try setting the DVD Link setting to OFF.

With this option set to OFF, some camcorders may still be incompatible with the recorder when connecting with a DV cable.

9.1.5Audio In Settings

Audio In provides settings for the following options: External Audio – default: Stereo

Dual Mono Recording – default: L

DV Input – default: Stereo1

Tuner Audio Level – default: Standard

External Audio:

The default setting (Stereo) supports standard stereo external sources. If each channel carries a separate soundtrack, change to Dual Mono. Refer to the following section for information on the Dual Mono Recording setting.
