12TROUBLESHOOTING

The following sections deal with common errors and specific problems when working with advanced recording devices such as the PRV-9000 DVD recorder.

12.1General Issues

If you are unable to see a picture or hear the audio through the DV In/Out jack, check the following points:

Copy-protected source material is blocked from output through the DV jack.

Check the cable between the camcorder or other DV device and the PRV- 9000.

Toggle the power (turn power Off then On again) to the DV device.

Switch the audio input.

Verify that the Linear PCM audio is set to a value other than 96 kHz.

12.2Timer Recording Issues

Although the timer is set, the recorder fails to record under the following conditions:

No discs is loaded

Non-recordable disc is loaded

Loaded disc is protected (see section, Protect/Unprotect an Original Title) Loaded disc already contains the maximum number of titles (99 titles)

Entering a timer program is unavailable during the following situations:

Recording is already taking place

Clock is not set

Selected recording time has already passed

Eight timer programs already exist

If two or more programs overlap, the following actions occur:

Earlier program takes priority

As the earlier program finishes, the later timer program begins recording
