2.2.4Connect to Other A/V Sources – Satellite/Cable

The PRV-9000 supports several AV products including VCRs, satellite tuners and camcorders.

Connect to a VCR / Satellite Receiver:

1.Connect the VCR’s (or receiver) Video Output to the Video Input. S-Video In with an S-Video cable (not provided) or Video In jack with supplied cable

2.Connect the VCR’s audio outputs to Audio IN L/R with a standard stereo audio cable (not provided).

Connect to a Cable Box or Satellite Receiver:

If the cable box or satellite receiver provides less than five scrambled channels, refer to the following diagram for assistance. For systems with six or more scrambled channels, please refer to the following section.

1.Connect RF cables as shown with the antenna/cable line connected to the PRV-9000.

2.Connect the recorder’s Audio Output 2 to the TV’s audio input using a stereo audio cable (not supplied).

3.Connect the recorder’s Video Output 2 to the TV’s video input using a BNC cable (not supplied).

4.Connect audio/video outputs from the cable box/satellite tuner to the recorder’s INPUT 2/AUTO REC posts using a stereo audio cable and a BNC video cable, respectively.

(enables watching/recording scrambled television broadcasts)

The diagram shows standard video connections. As an alternative, you can use the S-Video or Component Video (BNC) connections if available.

The PRV-9000 provides a Cable TV Input for recording programs from cable. Please refer to your cable box instructions for any additional configuration information.

Note: For high-quality playback, send audio and video signals through an AV receiver.
