10 Glossary

TIFF

An abbreviation of Tagged Image File Format. A standard file

 

format commonly used for scanning. Images scanned with the

 

machine are captured in a TIFF 6.0 file format.

toner cartridge

A customer replaceable cartridge which holds toner, an

 

electrically-charged powder with pigment and plastic, for ease

 

of loading into a printer.

transmission header

A heading printed on the first line of received documents.

transmission interval

The period between transmissions.

Transmission Report

A report that confirms the status of a fax document.

twisted pair

See “10Base-T”.

Uncollated

An output programming where the specified number of copies

 

for each page in a copy set is delivered in the order the

 

documents were placed in the document feeder. Example:

 

Two copies of a three-page document would output as page 1/

 

copy 1, page 1/copy 2, page 2/copy 1, page 2/copy 2, page 3/

 

copy 1, page 3/copy 2.

XPS

An abbreviation of XML Paper Specification. It is a file format

 

developed by Microsoft which is similar to Adobe PDF. The

 

XPS option is supported on Windows Vista.
