This chapter contains information on the fax screens and the fax services available.

In addition to the conventional Fax service, the machine offers you the Direct Fax, Internet Fax, and Server Fax services.

Direct Fax allows you to transmit faxes directly from PC clients. Internet Fax allows you to send scanned images by e-mail over the Internet or intranet. Server Fax allows you to send and receive scanned data to and from a fax server over a network using the SMB, FTP, or SMTP protocol.

For more information on Fax, Internet Fax, and Server Fax, refer to the System Administration Guide.

For more information on Direct Fax, refer to the online help provided for the print driver. NOTE: Some models do not support all or some of the fax services mentioned above.

NOTE: Some of the features described in this chapter are optional, and may not apply to your machine configuration.

NOTE: Internet Fax can be enabled when the Fax Kit and the Internet Fax Kit are installed on the machine.
