analog networking
A method of transferring a voice mail message from one voice messaging system to another whereby the message is played back (voiced) during the transmission from one system to another.

Audio Messaging Interchange Specification (AMIS)
An analog networking feature that allows subscribers to exchange voice mail messages with any voice messaging system that also has AMIS Analog Networking capabilities. Messages can be exchanged with subscribers on INTUITY systems as well as with users on remote voice messag- ing systems made by vendors other than AT&T.
Audio Information Exchange (AUDIX)
