Adding a Third-PartyIf you have third-party access points in your network, you can draw them Access Point on your floor layout. You can also configure the access point’s radio

attributes using 3WXM. These access points are taken into consideration when 3WXM assigns channels to MAP access points.

You can use the Building wizard to include third-party access points. You can also define third-party access points from the main 3WXM window and place them on your floor layout by modifying the floor’s properties.

To configure 3WXM to acknowledge third-party APs when performing rogue detection, see “Detecting and Combatting Rogue Devices” on page 419

You also can add a third-party access point from the site wizard, when creating or modifying a site. The wizard and its options are the same in either case.

Setting Attributes for a Third-Party Access Point

1In Miscellaneous group box on the Plan RF Coverage page, click the Third-Party Access Point icon.

2On the floor background image, click where you want the third-party access point to be placed. The Create Third-Party AP wizard appears.
