Configuring Logging Events that occur on a WX can be stored or sent to different destinations.

„Events can be stored in a local buffer on the WX. This buffer can be viewed with Web Manager or archived and viewed in Event Viewer (see “Accessing the Event Log” on page 411).

„Events can be displayed on the console port of the WX.

„Events can be displayed in an active Telnet session.

„Events can be sent to one or more syslog servers, as specified in RFC 3164.

You can enable and configure each target independently with a severity filter for these events.

If you enable 3WXM to check for events in the network (using the Preferences dialog box), you can specify the interval at which checks occur. For more information about changing preferences, see “Changing 3WXM Logging Options” on page 477.
