6Do one of the following:

„Go to “Configuring Network Ports”.

„Select another item in the WX Switch wizard, if you are using this wizard.

„Click Finish to close the wizard and save changes.

Any ports you configure as wired authentication ports are represented in 3WXM with a wired authentication port icon ( ).

Configuring

A network port is Layer 2 switch port that connects the WX switch to

other networking devices such as switches and routers.

To configure network ports:

1Do one of the following:

„Open the WX Switch wizard, then select Ethernet Port in the organizer list of the System and Administrative page.

„In the Organizer panel, select Ports / MAPs under a WX switch, then select Config > Edit. Click on Ethernet Port at the top of the wizard.

2Select an Ethernet port to modify.

3Click Modify. The Modify Port dialog box appears.

The options in the Wired Authentication Setup group box apply only to wired authentication ports.

4In the Name box, type a name for the port (1 to 16 alphanumeric characters, with no spaces or tabs).

5To enable the port, select Enabled. To disable the port, clear Enabled. By default, the port is enabled.

6To enable PoE, select PoE Enabled.

CAUTION: Although you can enable PoE on a network port, doing so is not recommended. If you enable PoE on a port connected to a device other than a MAP access point, hardware damage can result.

By default, PoE is disabled. To disable PoE, clear PoE Enabled.
