Mapping a Service A radio profile controls IEEE settings for a set of 3Com radios. The radio Profile to a Radio profile also maps a service profile to the radios.

Profile

If a radio profile is already configured, you can map it to the service profile. Otherwise, you can configure the radio profile and map it to the service profile later. (To configure a radio profile, see “Configuring a Radio Profile” on page 245.)

To map a service profile to a radio

1In the Create Service Profile wizard, click Radio Profile Selection. The Radio Profile Selection page appears.

2Select the radio profile in the Available Radio Profiles list.

3Click Add to move the profile name to the Current Radio Profiles column.

4Click Finish to save the changes and close the wizard.

Configuring a Radio A radio profile is a set of attributes that you can apply to multiple radios.

ProfileA default radio profile named default is provided and cannot be deleted. Rather than configuring each radio individually, you can create a new radio profile and apply it to multiple radios that you select. You can also create a radio profile as part of a domain policy and apply it to MAP access points on different WX switches.

3Com recommends that you create a new radio profile and leave the default radio profile unchanged as a backup.

The default radio profile is associated with a WX switch’s MAPs, unless you created a new radio profile while configuring a floor plan’s coverage area and configured the WX switches with the information in the floor plan.

If you create a new radio profile while configuring a coverage area for a floor, 3WXM automatically copies the new profile to the domain policy of the Mobility Domain selected for the coverage area. Later, when you configure WX switches in the Mobility Domain using the information in the floor plan, 3WXM also copies the radio profile to the Radio Profiles policy of each of the WX switches.
