RawSocket

specificremote host using the Raw Socket protocol. When the
attachedterm inalis tur ned on, the console server opens a R aw
Socketsessionon the host using an IP address and TCP por t
number specifiedon th e Other form , Ports - PhysicalPorts-Other.
The console profile features such as da ta buffering, multiple users and event n otifications are
not availab le under this p rofile.
When the attach ed terminal is turned on and the Enter k ey is pressed,a log in banner and a
login prompt i s displayed.
NOTE: Ifthe u ser doesno t login within a configurable timeframe, the serial port r eturns to an idlestate. T he
timeoutperiod can be configured thr ough the Web Manager Ports - PhysicalPorts - Accessfor m.
The administrator can build custom menus u sing the Terminal Profile Men u form accessible
from the web manager, App lications - Terminal Profile Men u or from a terminal window using
the menush_cfg co mmand. You should speci fy the bidirection al shell command, /bin /menush in
the web manag er, Ports - Physical Ports - Access form.
Bidirectional Telnetprotocol
Bidirectional Telnet prot ocol can be sel ected from the Ports - Physical Ports - G eneral from.
Bidirectional Tel net supports both a CAS profile Telnet co nnection and a TS profile menu
shell. Both co nnection protoco ls are supported on o ne port; however, con nections cannot be
openedsimult aneously.
