To associatean alias to a serial port:
An alias can be associat ed to a port w hen it is in dividually selected for modificat ion. To
associate an ali as to a port perform the foll owing steps.
1. Go to Ports - Physical Ports i n Expert mode,sel ect a port to modify and click the Modify
Ports button.
2. Enter the desired string in th e Alias field.
3. Click Done.
4. Click apply changes.
NOTE: The Aliasfield cannot be set ifyou select the Modify AllPort sbutton.
To configureserial port settings to match theconnected devices:
The settings for a serial po rt must match the connecti on settings on th e connected devic e.
1. Go to Ports - Physical Ports i n Expert mode and select a port or ports to modify. The
General form appears.
2. To change th e baud rate, select an option from 2400 to 23040 0 Kbps from the Baud Rate
pull-down menu . The default is 960 0.
3. To change th e flow control, select None,Hardwa reo r Software from the Flow Co ntrol
pull-down menu . The default is Non e.
4. To change th e parity, select None,O dd orEve n fromthe Parity pull-dow n menu. The
default is None.
5. To change th e data size, select an option from 5 to 8 from the Data p ull-down menu. The
default is 8.
6. To change th e stop bits, select 1o r 2fromth e stop bits pu ll-down menu. The defaul t is 1.
7. To change w hether the DCD (Data Carrier Detect) Stat e is disregarded or not , select either
Disregard or Regard.
8. Click Done.
9. Click apply changes.
