Users and Gro ups

The Users and Group s formal lows you to p erformth e following tasks:
• Set up user access t o the console server's web manager
• A ssign users to specific groups th at share common access rights
• A ssign or change p asswords
• Create n ew groups and add to the group list
The two groups to which y ou can assign a user are:
• A dmin - Read/Write A ccess
• Reg ular User - Limited Read/ Write Access
CAUTION: There ar e two root users for the initial setup of the consoleserver by the administrator .T hese usernames
are rootwith the defau ltpassword avocent and admin with the password avocent.F or security purposes make
sureyou change this default password as soon as possible.
Selecting Security - Users and Groups in Expert mode di splays the Users and Groups form, which
you can use to perform the foll owing:
• A dd or delete u sers
• A ssign or change u serp asswords
• A dd or delete g roups for serial port access config uration
• A dd users to a group
• D elete users from a group
