To configurea serial port for IPMI power management:
This procedure assumes you have add ed the connected IPMI device in th e Applications - IPMI
Power Mgmt. form.
1. To enable IPMI Power Mana gement of an IPMI device co nnected to t he currently selected
port, perform the followin g steps:
a. Click the En able IPMI on this po rt checkbox. The IPMI key and IPMI Server fields
appear.
b. Enter a key in the IPMI key field. Enter the key combination in t he IPMIkey field
with ^, as in ^i. The ca ret (^)sta nds for the Ctrl key. Th e administrator of the device
connected to this serial p ort uses this hotkey t o bring up the IPMI power manage ment
screen.
c. Select the name of the IPMI device from the IPMI Server pull-down menu.
2. Click Done.
3. Click apply changes.
To configurea user for IPDU power managementwhile connectedto a serialport:
Performth is procedure to allo w a user to perform power manage ment on a device while
connected t o it through one of th e console server’s serial ports.
1. Configure a serial p ort for IPDU power management as described in the p revious section.
2. To permit everyone wh o can access this port to perform power management o n this port,
click the Allow All Users radio but ton.
3. To restrict power management o n this port to a set of users authorized to access thi s port,
click the Allow Users/Groups radio b utton.
4. Enter a valid username or groupn ame in the New User/Group field and cl ick Add.
5. Click Done.
6. Click apply changes.

Under Ports - Physical Ports in Expe rt Mode, after you select one o rmore serial ports and cl ick
Modify Port(s), you can sel ect the Other form from the tab bed menu to con figure other option s.
