7.11 Auth Method
This page shows how to configure a user as authenticated when he logs into the switch via one of the management interfaces. Web interface
To configure an authentication method in the Web interface:
1.Specify the client (console, Telnet, SSH, Web) that you want to monitor.
2.Specify the authentication method (none, local, radius, TACACS+).
3.Check the box next to “Fallback.”
4.Click ”Save.”

Parameter Description
Client: The management client for which the configuration applies.
Authentication Method:
Authentication Method can be set to one of the following values:
•none: Authentication is disabled and login is not possible.
•local: Use the local user database on the switch for authentication.
•radius: Use a remote RADIUS server for authentication.
•tacacs+: Use a remote TACACS+ server for authentication.
Fallback:
Enable fallback to local authentication by checking this box.
If none of the configured authentication servers are alive, the local user database is used for authentication. Buttons:
Save: Click to save changes.
Reset: Click to undo any changes made locally and revert to previously saved values.
