Status Indicates the current NetWare configuration status.

Ready the print server is awaiting data.

Disabled IPX/SPX was manually disabled.

Initializing the print server is registering the node address or name. An additional status message may also be displayed.

 

An error code and message are displayed if the print server is not ready.

NetWare Mode

In Queue Server Mode (see below), this is the IPX/SPX name of the print server. It must match a valid print server on the appropriate NetWare file server. The default name is NPIxxxxxx, where xxxxxx is the last six digits of the LAN hardware (MAC) address.

In Remote Printer Mode (see below), this is the name specified when you configured the networked printer. The default name is NPIxxxxxx, where

xxxxxxis the last six digits of the LAN hardware (MAC) address.

The NetWare mode used by the print server:

Queue Server indicates that the print server receives data directly from the queue. It is also used when the printer is not configured.

Remote Printer with the printer number following it, indicates that the print server emulates a Novell NetWare remote printer.

NDS Tree

Displays the name of the Novell Directory Services (NDS) tree for this printer.

Name

NDS is a database of objects on a NetWare network, organized in a heierarchical

 

tree structure.

NDS

Displays the fully qualified NDS name where the print server object resides in
