FMA’s recipients options and the Recipients field entries determine which IAP repositories are granted access to the binary object. The access information is retrieved from the document’s Access Control List (ACL).

Preparing IAP archives for FMA

FMA uses the ILM Object Storage API interface to access IAP archives. Before you create an IAP archive, you must configure the IAP system.

Enabling integration

Applications integrating with HP IAP must have TCP/IP access to port 25 and port 80. To store email, the application requires the virtual IP addresses for each storage domain. To use the ILM Object Storage API, the application can use any HTTP IP address. These attributes are defined when the IAP device is initially configured and installed in the environment.

Configuring IAP devices

An application requires an AIP repository and user to view BLOBs through the API. The application might require additional separate repositories and users if end users are using the IAP web interface to search for documents stored through the ILM Object Storage API. At a minimum, all BLOBs should be stored in the repository for the application. Applications can make information available to the individual users who own files if those users also have accounts automatically populated on IAP from the installation’s user management LDAP server.

See the HP StorageWorks Reference Information Storage System Administrator Guide for instructions on adding users, data repositories, and ACLs between users and repositories. The administrator guide is available on the documentation CD and on the HP Business Support Center.

Configuring computers on which FMA is installed

If data is stored with Windows Security Descriptor information, the computers on which FMA is installed must be configured with access to the active-directory server on the network.

Enabling secondary sites

If the primary IAP site cannot accept any incoming traffic, FMA does not redirect the data traffic to the secondary replica site. FMA only supports one replica site, which is built by one-way (Active/Passive) IAP remote replication services.

Configuring IAP archives

Use the following steps to create an IAP archive.

Note You can create an archive even if it is currently unavailable. This enables you to create definitions for archives that may be offline.

To configure an IAP archive

1.Launch the FMA user interface by selecting All ProgramsHP StorageWorks File Migration AgentFMA Configuration from the Windows Start menu.

2.In the left pane, select Archives.
