6-1 Overview

Message communications enable messages to be set between nodes on a DeviceNet network when required by system conditions. The messages can be sent between PCs, between an OMRON PC and a master made by another company, or between slaves. They can be used to send/receive data; read time data, error histories, and other data; or control operation, e.g., by force-setting/resetting bits.

There are two types of messages: FINS messages and explicit messages.
