Tooperate an outputfrom the command interface, firstidentify the relay using
the

I/O point number

. Then, set theoutput to external control. For example,
to energizethe last output on Option Card B, write the commandsas follows:
1. W rite number26 to register 8001.
2. W rite commandcode 3310 to register 8000 to set the relay to external
control.
3. W rite commandcode 3321 to register 8000.
IfyoulookinTableB2 on page 183, youll see that commandcode 3310
sets the relayto external control and command code 3321 is listed as the
command usedto energize a relay.Command codes 33103381 are for use
with inputs and outputs.
Youcan also use the command interface to change valuesin selected
metering-relatedregisters, such as synchronizingthe time of day of the clock
or resetting genericdemand.
Twocommands, 9020 and 9021, work together as part of the command
interfaceprocedure when you use it to change circuit monitor configuration.
Youmust first issue command 9020 to enter into setup mode, change the
register, and then issue 9021 to save your changes and exit setupmode.
Only one setup sessionis allowed at a time. While in this mode, if the circuit
monitordetects more than two minutes of inactivity, that is, if youdo not write
anyregister values or press anybuttons on the display, the circuit monitor will
timeoutand restore the original configuration values. All changes will be lost.
Also,if the circuitmonitor loses power or communications while in setup
mode, yourchanges will be lost.
The general procedurefor changing configuration registers using the
command interfaceis as follows:
1. I ssuecommand 9020 in register 8000 to enter into the setup mode.
2. Make changes to the appropriate register by writing the new value to that
register.Perform register writes to all registerst hatyou want to change.
For instructionson reading and writing registers, see Reading and
WritingRegisterson page 44 in Chapter 3Operation.
3. To save the changes, write the value1 to register 8001.

NOTE: Writingany other value except 1 to register 8001 lets you exit

setup mode withoutsaving your changes.

4. I ssuecommand 9021 in register 8000 to initiate the save and reset the
circuit moni tor.
For example, the procedure to change the demand interval for current is as
follows:
1. I ssuecommand code 9020.
2. W rite thenew demand interval to register 1801.
3. W rite 1 toregister 8001.
4. I ssuecommand code 9021.
See Appendix AAbbreviatedRegister Listing on page 127 for those
registerst hatrequire you to enter setup mode to make changes to the
registers.
