This section describ es the circuit monitor’s analog output capabilities. For
technicalspecifications and instructions on installing the I/O Extender or
analog outputmodules, refer to the instructionbulletin that ships with the I/O
(seeTable 1–2 on page 3 for a list of these publications).
Toset up analog outputs, you must first define it fromthe display. From the
main menu, select Setup > I/O. Select the appropriate analog output option.
Forexample, if you are using the IOX0404 option of the I/O Extender, select
IOX0404. Fordetailed instructions, see “SettingUpI/Os”on page 23
in Chapter 3—Operation.ThenusingSMS, youmust define the following
values foreach analog output:
•Name—A16-character label used to identifythe output. Default names
are assigned, butcan be customized
•Output regist er—Thecircuit monitor register assigned tothe analog
output.
•Lower Limit—Thevalue equivalent to the minimum output current. When
the register valueis below the lower limit, the circuit monitor outputst he
minimum output current.
•UpperLi mit—Thevalue equivalent to the maximumoutput current. When
the register valueis above the upper limit, the circuit monitor outputs the
maximum outputcurrent.
For instructionson setting up an analog output in SMS,seetheSMS online
help on deviceset up of the circuit monitor.
ANALOG OUTPUTSHAZARD OF EQUIPMENT DAMAGE
Each analog outputrepresents an individual 2-wire current loop;
therefore,use an isolated receiver for
each
individual analogoutput
on the I/O Extender (IOX).
Failureto observe this instruction can result in equipment damage.
