Description

10 OUTPUT 723;"CAL WL;"

The CAL command performs error-correction routines which calculate and apply correction factors for wavelength or power. An external calibration signal must be connected to the optical spectrum analyzer before executing CAL. If a signal is not connected, an error condition results. Use the CALCOR command to deactivate the correction factors.

The command arguments have the following de￿nitions:

Argument

De￿nition

CAL ALL

Calibrates for both wavelength and power.

CAL PRESET

Erases all user calibration data.

CAL PWR

Calibrates at the power level speci￿ed by the CALPWR

command at the entered calibration wavelength. The

maximum adjustment range is limited to 65 dB. The CAL

PWR command also veri￿es that the calibration signal is

within 61 to 2 nm of the entered calibration wavelength.

CAL WL

Calibrates at the wavelength speci￿ed by the CALWL

command. The maximum adjustment range is limited to

about 1 to 2 nm. The CAL WL command also veri￿es

7-78
