Erase and format the currently selected memory device.

The FORMAT command formats and erases the currently selected memory device. Internal memory is selected automatically when power is applied to the spectrum analyzer. To select another memory device, execute MSI. When internal memory is selected, FORMAT erases all unprotected les from internal memory. (Refer to the PROTECT and PSTATE commands for additional information.) When a memory card is selected, FORMAT erases all entries on the memory card. Use format to initialize new memory cards. Memory cards are formatted with the logical interchange format (LIF). When a disk drive is selected, FORMAT erases all entries on a oppy disk and initializes it. All new memory cards need to be formatted.
