| The ERASE command erases all memory in the OSA for security purposes, | |
| including internal memory, instrument settings, | |

| or a disk drive. The partial erase command, PERASE, erases all internal | |
| memory and instrument settings. PERASE does not aect the correction | |

| In the event of power loss, reserve memory is lost. For example, all active | |
| trace information is lost. The current values of all predened variables and | |
| instrument settings are lost unless they are stored in a | |
| before power is removed. Instrument settings and predened variables not | |
| saved in state registers may be retrieved when power is returned if the | |
| POWERON command is set to LAST before power is removed. Otherwise, the | |
| instrument settings and predened variables return to their preset state when | |
| power is returned. | |
| The FORMAT command erases internal or external memory. If a memory card | |
| or a disk drive (oppy) is selected with the MSI command, FORMAT initializes | |
| it. |
