Testing with Limit Line

10 OUTPUT 723;"LIMITEST ON;"

The LIMITEST command compares data in the currently sweeping trace to a limit line. A limit line must be stored in a table or trace before testing begins. (For a description of limit lines, refer to the LIMILINE command.)

When in table form, the wavelength-amplitude characteristics reside in the

limit-line table. To view the limit-line table, press NMiscNNNNNNNNNNNNN, NMORENNNNNNNNNNNNNNN1NNNNNNNofNNNNNNNNN3NNN,

NlimitNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNlinesNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN. During measurements, the limit line characteristics are displayed graphically as a limit line when active-trace data is displayed. When in trace form, the wavelength-amplitude characteristics reside in either of two trace arrays, called LIMIT HI and LIMIT LO, which are stored in user memory.

Limit lines stored in traces can be used for limit line testing.

First, load a limit line into the limit-line table. Use LIMIRCL to load a previously stored limit line or execute the following commands, in the order given, to create a limit line:

1.LIMILINE clears the limit-line table, prepares it for data entry, and speci￿es the number of segments in a limit line.

2.LIMIHALF speci￿es whether the limit line is an upper or lower limit-line.
