Controlling Memory

Memory is an area where information can be stored for future recall. Memory that is available for the user is called user memory. This chapter discusses the control of the three types of user memory:

￿Internal user memory, located within the optical spectrum analyzer

￿External user memory located on HP-IB, such as a disc drive

￿External user memory located on HP-MSIB, such as the memory card in the HP 70004A display

Reserved memory is for operations that are not under the user's control. Reserved memory is a￿ected by power loss.
