Description

Sweep the current measurement range.

10 OUTPUT 723;"MKN;TS;MKMIN;"

The TS command sweeps the current measurement range and stores new amplitude information in the active trace(s).

Use TS for the following reasons:

￿Insure trace re￿ects current measurement range settings.

￿Capture traces before processing them with math commands.

￿Capture traces before positioning markers.

Each sweep begins when the trigger conditions are met. The take-sweep command is used to synchronize a measurement with the sequence of commands sent to the instrument. When a command sequence is preceded by TS, the user is assured a complete sweep of measurement information has been taken and the end-of-sweep bit in the status-byte register has been set before further commands are processed.

The TS command does not set the command complete bit or the end-of-sweep bit in the status register until all of the sweeps speci￿ed by VAVG (video averaging) are completed.

Since there is an input bu￿er for commands sent via HP-IB, multiple commands may be stored in the bu￿er, but they are not executed until the sweep is completed. To synchronize computer operation with the completion of a measurement, follow TS with a DONE?.
