Description The VAVG command is a digital averaging routine that reduces the noise ￿oor level, but does not a￿ect the sweep time, bandwidth, or any other analog

characteristic of the spectrum analyzer. VAVG operates on either trace A, B, or C, one-at-a-time, during clear-write mode.

The averaging function sets the averaging counter to 1, then begins averaging the trace as it sweeps. The active readout indicates the number of sweeps averaged; the default is 100 unless otherwise speci￿ed. Increasing the number of sweeps averaged increases the reduction of displayed noise.
