3-63snmp-server enable traps
Use this command to enable this device to send Simple Network
Management Protocol traps (SNMP notifications ). Use the no form to
disable SNMP notifications.
Syntax
snmp-server enable traps [authentication | link-up-down]
no snmp-server enable traps [authentication | link-up-down]
authentication - Keyword to issue authentication failure traps.
link-up-down - Keyword to issue link-up or link-down traps.
Default Setting
Issue authentication and link-up-down traps.

Command Usage
If you do not enter an snmp-server enable traps command, no
notifications controlled by this command are sent. In order to
configure this device to send SNMP notifications, you must ent er at
least one snmp-server enable traps command. If you enter the
command with no keywords, all notification types are enabled. If you
enter the command with a keyword, only the notification type related
to that keyword is enabled.
•The snmp-server enable traps command is used in conjunction with
the snmp-server host command. Use the snmp-server host
command to specify which host or hosts receive SNMP notifications.
In order to send notifications, you must configure a t least one
snmp-server host command.
The notification types used in this command all have an associated
MIB object that allows them to be globally enabled or disabled. No t all
of the notification types have notificationEnab le MIB objects, so some
of these cannot be controlled using the snmp-server enable traps
command.
