Error Messages

Standard SCPI Error Messages

Device-Dependent Errors

-3XXerrors indicate that an E5250A operation did not properly complete, possibly due to an abnormal hardware or firmware condition. These negative codes are SCPI defined. For the device-dependent positive error codes, see “E5250A Specific Error Messages” on page 11-10. The positive codes are not SCPI defined.

For these errors, an error number and message are placed in the error queue, and bit3 of the Standard Event Status Register is set.

	-300	Device-specific error
		Generic device-dependent error for the E5250A that cannot be
		determined more specifically.

	-311	Memory error
		An error was detected in the E5250A's memory.

	-350	Queue overflow
		If error queue is full, this code is entered into the error queue instead
		of the code that caused the error. This code indicates that there was
		no room in the error queue, so an error occurred but was not
		recorded.
