Note: This tool can be used in both Interactive Mode and Batch Mode. For details on scheduling
this tool to run in batch mode see Using Batch Mode (page 39).

To use the Registry Screen

Step 1 Verify that the system for which you want to view the registry is selected in the Interactive
Mode > Select System screen.
Step 2 Click Get Registry
The registry is shown in the left column. Clicking on the various nodes of this registry tree
displays the node values in the right pane of the Registry Screen.
Step 3 You can optionally save the registry by clicking Save.
You can view saved registries by selecting Interactive Mode > Registry > History.
How to Use the Registry Compare Screen
Note: This tool can only be used in both Interactive Mode.
Use the Compare Registries screen to:
Compare the Windows registry settings between:
The current system and another system
The current system and a registry le stored in the Support Tools repository
Two registry les in the repository
Copy values from one system to another, or from a le to the current system
Save a comparison to a le in the Repository
Support Tools has the ability to show only differences between registries. T o see only dif ferences
between two systems, simply check the box for Show differences only.
To open the Compare Registries screen, from the Dashboard menu, select Interactive Mode
> Registry Compare.
Note: This utility is available to privileged users only. It will not appear on the Dashboard menu
for non-privileged users.
