If the felt surface of S brake bnad assembly became hard or wornout, replace the brake band assembly.

Preparations

1.Check that the unit is in the unthreading end mode.

2.Turn the power off.

3.Remove the front lid and the outside panel. (Refer to section 1-5 of Maintenance Manual Part 1.)

4.Remove the cassette compartment. (Refer to section 1-8 of Maintenance Manual Part 1.)

The stop washer has been used together with the brake band assembly when attaching the brake bandassem- bly. When replacing the brake band assembly, prepare a new stop washer (3-726-829-01 or 3-559-408-11).
