J.10.12.2.1 AuditLogger.conf Usage

The following can be configured in the configuration file:

Location of the log file—The default is (/opt/svplus/log/AL).

Number of days—By defining the number of days for the audit trail log files to be kept, all other obsoleted audit trail logs will be deleted automatically.

The name of the user group whose member can read the audit trail log files—It is a standard UNIX user group.

J.10.12.2.2 Audit Trail Log File Naming Convention

There is one audit trail log file per day. The filename convention is defined as

AuditTrail.<mmddyyyy>.log.

Example audit trail log files: AuditTrail.10102001.log for October 10, 2001.

J.10.12.2.3 When You Open a Dialog Box in a CTM GUI, There Is No Record in the Audit Trail Log File

Step 1 Open the CTM Security Manager GUI, and check the Audit-Read permission for that CTM GUI in the security profile associated with the user. If the Audit-Read permission is not turned on, then no record is the expected behavior. Otherwise, go to step 2.

Step 2 Verify that the Audit Logger server is running. Use psg AuditLogger on the CTM machine. If no AuditLogger server is running then this is the problem. Go to defect information and follow the steps to collect all the information needed.

Step 3 Check to see if any CORBA-related exceptions have been thrown on the console. If so, collect those error messages and/or call stacks.

Defect Information—Collect the following information for further analysis:

Complete screen snapshots of the CTM GUI.

Errors/exceptions thrown on the console, if any.

log: /opt/svplus/log/AuditLogger.log*, /opt/svplus/log/LogServer.log*, AuditTrail*.log (file location is set in /opt/svplus/config/AuditLogger.conf), /opt/svplus/log/watchdog.log.

Core dump files in /opt/svplus/corefilesdir, especially for those AuditLogger core dump files.
